It was okay.

I mean, it's nice, though the drums seem like their playing with a brush. The riff seemed extremely simple, and there was no instrument solo. I think the vocals could be worked on a little more, but it was generally 'average'.

You should have given a 3 at max, haha :P

The first reason why it's here is because I couldn't delete it since it was used into an entry...But now I think it's a good exemple of what I was able to do in 2005.

Anyway, thanks for your descent 6!

Nice!

The main quarrel I have here is the length-- It seems so short. Though, what I do like is the bass beat-- I dislike it when the bass beats aren't loud enough; though they're what really 'pumps' energy into techno music. The synth and other effects are worked on quite well, and I liked to slightly soft part at 0:22 because it added in a lot of variety. Although not a problem, you may want to find a third bass beat. I see you have one that does doubles, and one that does a single (before the snare) but perhaps you can try doing a double that seems a bit seperate. I do look forward to more, perhaps an improved version.

hopeku responds:

Hey thanks man. I will probably not submit and improved version of it, but I sure will make more drum'n'bass!

A little bland.

I was digging the bass, but it seemed quiet. The guitar riff was nice, but the main concern was around how the bass drum wasn't loud and how it lacked a general variety-- It seemed that the only treble going around was the vinyl. Perhaps some diversified pan or synth would work out nice.

Also, another problem was that some parts were a bit too long to love (or atleast you'd be waiting for, lets say, the drums or bass to come in).

It's a generally nice song, though probably needs some more polishing.

Great!

I was so happy that this was with real instruments. The only quarrel I have here is the transitions are basically gone. Otherwise, you all play great together; you also seem to be missing a bass player, which is something you might consider looking for.

Irritating, wrong catagory

It's irritating, kind of like you're hitting random notes in garage band, or whatever your using. Submitting it into Newgrounds seems like a bad idea, and submitting it into the Jazz portal is just intentionally pissing those who want to find reasonable jazz off. Of course, that's what you aim for, because apparently you have nothing else to do on your time.

If you're serious, check more traditional jazz and use no synth instruments.

Paradox-Guardian responds:

well you win some you kill some

It's not really Jazz

Though I like the synth's riff, you impliment a lot of techno techniques like glitches. . .It doesn't feel Jazzy at all, dispite the drums even. I would really suggest you put this in another genre, or atleast take a look at some actual jazz. The music itself isn't bad, but the genre it's in doesn't fit. Perhaps if you used more traditional methods and added in a bass (as you said you may in the future), scratch out the techno techniques, it'd be a nice song here.

LLAAPPSSEE responds:

There are many different styles and variations of jazz. This is more of a jazz track (I think - or rather, "Electronic Jazz, nu jazz, whatever") and fits here more than any other genre on NG. Jazz has always been forward thinking (in my ears). Also, (not to sound too self righteous or snobbish) I don't use a "techno technique" - electronic, yes, but not techno. I'm simply using electronic implementations. You should review the music for the music and not the genre - the meaningless tag.

Nice!

Except for some faults in the solos, this is pretty much another song on my Playlist. Good job; do you use a drum machine? I must compliment the drums. It's so sad that there wasn't a drum solo, though. A few times in the song, I was expecting everything to stop except for the drums. If you'd like, I could make a few instructional videos on different (drum) solos; just PM me.

The guitar solos were supurb, although unfortunately, the loop you seemed to try to create didn't work out so well; I cringed when I heard it and almost stopped downloading the song because of it, until I saw it was redirecting at the front.

Good job overall!

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

It is a drum machine, however, I program every single hit. I'm trying to be more diverse in my drum programming, to add to some realism. And good drums backing a good rhythm, sound great. No drum solos, cause I'm not sure how they would sound.
I'm not sure about the loop you were talking about. The outro at the end, is supposed to be reversed delay effects for an eerie feel. If that is what you are talking about. I thought it worked out exactly how I wanted it. :D Some people like different shit. :D

If you play drums, wouldn't mind a collab one day..if you have the means to record them well. :D

Thanks for the review, man.

Oh my goodness. . .

Hey, panned strings. This should be under classical or tech--
HOLY SHOELACES DRUM MACHINE!

Or atleast I hope it was a drum machine. I think that you should keep your notes at 1:10 to 1:24 more like whole notes and then sixteenth notes after doing, what, two whole notes? Either way, sometimes it just felt like it was a little too much when it could relaxed for a moment and then brought tensions back up. Good job overall.

For Valhalla!

Everything is awesome from what I think, except you have the Live AC/DC problem (The High-hat sound almost overpowers everything). Other then that, there really isn't much else.

Nice!

The beginning was a bit abrupt, but that was okay. You sound better then some of the Death Metal bands I've been listening to (such as Behemoth and Job for a Cowboy) by a long shot. If you're making an album, I'd buy it. Keep up the good work, man.
