Woah, bass.

The bass (Not necessarily the drum, but the synth) is too heavy-- It should be a little more diversified. Though I love the double bass at 1:00 and so on-- don't change that. Other then that, you need to be sponsored by Pearl!

Great job on the drums.

PearlDrummer516 responds:

Yes, since this song was made, I've discovered much better bass effects and I'll definitely be using them in future projects, perhaps I'll remake this one!

As for the drum compliment, thank you! As a drummer I've always been fascinated with drum n bass music because the drum tracks are usually insane. I tried to make it as realistic as I could, while still producing that electronic feel. Everything you hear in this song can actually be played by a real drummer, though he'd have to be VERY skilled haha.

Thanks for the review.

Nice potential!

It's a great song, the only bad thing I could say is that you'd need to make it longer-- make the instruments bring the listener on a journey of solos, from down in the dumps to up on your feet-- I see a huge amount of potential, man! Keep it up.

Great for Garage Band

Although you used the loops from Garage Band, you did it nicely-- Nicely enough to gain a 5/5. Good job, homes.

Garage Band

This is generally Garage Band, and unfortunately not everything mixes with eachother. I think you did a decent job, though. 5/5 since that actually increases the score.

Too good to be true

I listen to this song all the time. I love it so much! It brings you on this kind of adventure with all the solos. . .Amazing, man. I would expect to buy this stuff, to be fairly honest!

Professional!

Professional! I wouldn't be suprised if I was expected to buy this. Consider taking a career in the musical industry-- This stuff is amazing!

Downloaded, five stars!

W.E. thanks you for the great review!

:o Nice!

I see you -did- really remaster it! You weren't f'ing around! :P You might wanna try what Dream Theater did, and overlap the two voices, or make them take turns. You did have a mistake in the Lyrics! The person that talks at first says; 'I'm really not. . .I'm not emo. . .I'm just really sad--' But that's been bothering me from the start. Other then that, all I can ask is for a double bass/snare solo-thing. What I'm trying to say is where the double bass takes two hits (Not four) and then the snare/tom hits two right after the second hit with the double bass. You'll figure it out. I liked your drums and everything else. Keep it up!

CWN responds:

Cool. Hm didn't even notice i wrote the lyrics wrong for that whining kid. hehe
I really don't know what you mean with the snare/bassdrum thing. lol

Thanks for the review :D

Criticism is excepted. . .? Oh boy!

It's too bad I can't find a darn thing wrong with the song! Anyway, I really did think the whole calming part was there. . .Everything sounded so calm and real. Like. . .A real music-thing. Which is crazy, because this is our Audio Portal! Nah, I'm just kidding. About the craziness. Anyway, I loved how you used such a variation of instruments, and when they were added in at certain times. . .It sounded great. Keep it up.

If criticism will help me to improve, than darn right it's accepted! >:-D

I really only used a few instruments through the whole. Flute, Clarinet, Oboe, Strings, and Harp. I just rotated them between each melodic line to paint different orchestral colors and pave some more interesting textures. :)

Thank you for the review!

Woo!

Wow man-- I haven't heard awesome music quite like this in a long while! Keep up your good work man, I can't wait to hear more of this stuff-- Can't wait for more. Although, maybe too energetic for a dream-like theme, it still sounded too good to be a real song! >_> Fav'ed

Bob-Music responds:

Thanks! I really appreciate your comments, but I think I may have made my description of "Dream-Like" a little innaccurate. People are assuming I mean dreamy and ambient, but what I actually mean is that I'm trying to convey feelings from different types of dreams. For instance, I tried to encompass the power of Lucid Dreaming and the feeling that I get when I think about it.

Nice.

I really enjoyed most of the song-- You threw a organ-like instrument under your synth and it sounded really cool. The beats and everything else really sounded professional. Keep up your good work, homes.

DjCompass responds:

Thanks. The organ-like instrument was actually another synth with a Flanger effect. Glad you enjoyed it. But you say, "most of the song", which begs the question, what can i improve on?
